BE AWARE! - Medical jargon can be harmful to your health!
Although I applaud your desire to learn about your particular physical ailment, there is danger in depending on Google or your next-door neighbor for medical information.
Unfortunately, even your doctor, physical therapist, or other clinician may unwittingly lead you to into this danger zone.
Medical jargon that includes words like tear, rupture, and degeneration imply a scary, formidable condition. Also, health care terminology - diagnoses and procedures - are unfamiliar and difficult to pronounce, adding to your uneasiness and worry.
Generally, when experiencing a new or ongoing physical condition, your emotions are already running high and maybe even hot. When medical jargon dumps fuel onto existing flames, you add insult to injury.
For this reason, you must BE AWARE of your emotional and physical reactions to these words and descriptions.
When in the presence of a health care clinician, ask them to break down the jargon into regular, common terms that you can understand. Your heart rate will slow down, your gut will settle, and your muscles will soften. Your healing will commence and carry-on as naturally planned.
Learning must be empowering. If not, your mind is likely blocking your healing potential. To be clear…for best healing results, you must sync your mind with your body’s inherent ability to repair itself.
