When you workout, is your mind synced in???
Most likely, you tune into your form, your “burn,” or your breathlessness.
If you’re a believer in the mind-body connection, consider engaging your mind in other - more radical and unconventional - ways.
First, intentionally choose self-talk words and phrases that stimulate the physical changes you desire. For example, consider strength-training words like “I am powerful” or “My body builds.”
Second, be aware of your emotional reasons. Ramp up emotions that represent why this workout matters, why you reserve time and energy to sweat and smell and hurt a bit. For example, consider emotions like excitement to play with your grandkids or determination to be the national champion.
Third, move and better your body with incessant gratitude. Knowing that your body is a temporary vessel, remain appreciative of its innate, life-long desire to adjust, upgrade, and heal. For example, instead of allowing frustration and impatience to taint your attitude, create and boost a sense of mystery and amazement.
By syncing in your mind, I promise --- your workouts will be more productive and enjoyable!
