Exercise “TUNE-IN” or “TUNE-OUT”?

In the past, I would “tune-out” while running or cycling or weight-training or whatever exercise.

My mind would be elsewhere — maybe on my to-do list or some happening at work or even an upcoming fun event.

In other words, I would pay very little attention to my body…mostly out of ignorance.

Now, as a mind-body-spirit advocate, I “tune-in” as much as possible.

My breathing - my joints - my muscles - my technique - my (a)symmetry - my alignment.

And also, my self-talk - my gratitude - my joy - my innermost essence.

This kind of “tuning-in” is a form of MINDFULNESS.

Being mindful allows for all of me to benefit from the exercise.

Exercise used to be just a physical experience…now, it’s a full-human experience.

Consider turning your internal dial to the exercise channel at the farthest range. Take exercise to a higher - more impactful - frequency.
