The “Healing Linkage”
“Are you unknowingly inhibiting the healing process?”
Sometimes we let the “ego” part of us get in our own way. That’s the part that thinks it knows better, that fails to listen or step down.
Unfortunately, this same ego may inhibit the healing process. For example, when your tissues need rest and protection, your ego thinks otherwise, and you resume work too soon. Or when your surgeon advises you to wear the knee brace, your ego overrides this advice, and you return to your sport without it.
To cooperate with the healing process, the ego must recognize and accept that subconscious intelligence is responsible for the mending of tissues and restoration of systems. In other words, the ego must make wise decisions to support the natural process.
So, moving forward, use your ego to your advantage. Learn about the four healing phases - hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, remodeling - and how to assist rather than obstruct. Discuss with your physical therapist since they are aware of your healing status.
Allow for “healing linkage.”
