Is “aging mindfulness” a thing
As you age and notice your body changing, what is your response or strategy?
For me, the Serenity Prayer comes to mind…
Yet here’s the crux: What if a new “thing” shows up in your 60s and you lack the wisdom?
Our vanity culture strives to stop natural aging, so following its advice leads to medications, injections, and surgeries. Definitely an unrealistic approach.
On the other hand, claiming that every aging “thing” should be freely accepted seems irresponsible. Definitely a defeatist approach.
I am wondering if “aging mindfulness” is synonymous with “wisdom” … the wisdom to know the difference.
When we become so aware - so mindful - as our hormone levels drop, as our biochemistry slows down, as our systems need more rest, we will know when to accept and when to change.
Every new aging “thing” will be assessed with intentional insight instead of stress and fear.
With age, allow your mindfulness to wise up!
